Lege/Seibel IntraLase Flap Lifter/Retreatment Spatula

The Seibel IntraLase Flap Lifter/Retreatment Spatula was developed in collaboration with Dr. med. Barry S. Seibel and the curved version with Dr. Barbara Lege. The instrument is ideally suited to cut the micro-intergrowths of the stroma and the corneal flap during a LASIK/IntraLase treatment. The lifter raises the corneal flap which is then separated from the stroma with the spatula. The curved version of the blade is adapted to the curvature of the cornea. Both instruments are available in both stainless steel and titanium.

Marker

Oliver/Steinert Smartphone Marker

The new smartphone marker is able to set a cornea mark with an accuracy of 0.1°. Dr. Roger F. Steinert from the University of California and Dr. Alejandro Oliver developed this “smart” tool in cooperation with Rhein Medical. The application is simple and precise: The marker is plugged into the headphone jack of the smartphone and (free) apps for angle measurement can be downloaded from iStore or Google Play. The marker is dyed with a marker pen or pad so that the label can be placed on the cornea.

Folden Femto Double-Ended Dissector

The folden femto dissector is a single instrument designed for smooth opening of all femtosecond laser – created corneal incisions during cataract surgery. The double-ended instrument measures 0.7 mm at one end, and 1.2 mm at the other.

The polished, semi-blunted leading tip allows for “scoring” of the epithelium and provides easy, glided entry into the femtosecond laser – created corneal incision. The unique sharp edge design cleanly separates residual tissue bridges and stromal adhesions that provide resistance to entry using standard instruments.
